Beyond a Seat at the Table

You’ve achieved everything you set out to achieve and more… but still feel like something’s missing—this is for you.

We’ve been taught that if we work hard, keep our heads down, push past our limits—or assimilate—we, too, could earn a seat at the table. And that worked.

Until it didn’t.

Because now…

We’re at the table but fighting to be heard.
Using all of our energy to protect our hard-earned success, while the people in our lives are left with scraps.

We’re realizing:

Having a seat at the table is not the same as having a stake in it.

The cost of the dream we fought so hard for is starting to outweigh the reward.

And now you’re left wondering:

  • Do I keep fighting for my seat?

  • Do I keep giving my family—and if I’m honest, myself—what’s left?

  • Is it even possible to be excellent without being constantly exhausted?

  • Is this even worth it anymore?

I’d venture to say the answer is in the question.

But you already know that.

You know the seat you once wanted isn’t what you want now.

You know the illusion of success is just that—an illusion.

What you don’t know is what to do next.

Do you walk away from everything you’ve built?

Do you tough it out a few more years? Until retirement? Or until the kids are out of school?

Do you keep pushing in hopes there’s something better on the other side?

As much as you want more margin, more joy, and more space in your life, you can’t shake how all of the options feel like quitting, like giving up, like failure.

So you do nothing, because after all, we don’t do failure.

And as much as you hate to admit it:

Doing nothing… also feels like giving up.
Not on your goals.
On yourself.

And that makes you feel sad.

Here’s what I’d like to offer—
and I hope it provides some clarity, comfort, and release for you.

You are not a quitter.

This nudge to get up—literally and figuratively—from a table that takes more than it gives?

It isn’t a sign that you’ve failed.

It’s a sign that you’ve reached an elevation where you can see clearly what truly matters.

Until now, you believed magic, power, and success were at that table.

But now you’re here.
You know better.

Getting here, cutting, scraping, and clawing was playing someone else’s game, by someone else’s rules, allowing them to be in the seat of power.

But now, you see clearly.

Yes, you sacrificed.
Yes, you paid a price.

But more importantly?

You can see the horizon.

You can see open space.
You can see what was there all along: you.

This moment isn’t about failure or lamenting the time you spent pursuing the seat.
It’s about choosing yourself.

It’s about backing away from a game you no longer wish to play.

It’s about reclaiming your power, tuning into your self, and following your lead.

And that feels both invigorating and terrifying because this isn’t something you’ve done before.

Lean into the invigorating feeling, that sense of possibility, of being alive.

Isn’t that the real thing you’ve been chasing all along?

Joy.
Adventure.
Freedom.

This isn’t about quitting.
This is about living.

Living your life.
Your way.

If you are ready…
To stand in your power
To rewrite the rules.
To play—and finally win—your own game...

This is your invitation.

Allow yourself to accept it and say yes.
